Great points. A few differences between now and the gilded age are progressive taxation (except for the rich) where the sheeple who manage to make more are robbed to create a dependency in the other 50%. And mental control and manipulation along with technology that threatens any disrupting voice that isn't financed by the system. And there always seems to be a violent threat that the government must protect us from that is more urgent than the problems you are describing. Survival takes precedence and we are left backing the very institutions that are stealing from us. But you are correct, the only power on Earth that can change these issues is the combined power of the people. Since you’ve read the final chapter with the implementation plan, you know that my plan was to 1) have people sign up on the EndPoliticsNow.com website to get notified when we’re ready to execute. 2) When we have enough in a district to know we could elect a senator or member of the house, we would run our own candidate on a write-in campaign with our followers. 3) With enough members of Congress, we would put through a constitutional amendment to make the changes described in the book. Yes, it’s a super long shot. But maybe someday, maybe even with gen z as Lily describes, we could do it. I just wanted the solution to be out there in case people become ready. They certainly are not now, for many reasons. I’ve had people offer “better” ideas, which I encourage, but so far their ideas aren’t feasible on a national level, even if they have a lot more money and influential connections. I hoped that someone with wealth, clout, and interest would read the book who has expressed interest in a direct democracy (like Elon Musk). But it hasn’t happened. But you’re right, working with the parties would be a complete waste of time. All we can do is try to interest people of influence. I’m honored that Lily has recommended my book. If the current education system (and/or self education) isn't improved (somehow), and we start dissecting wealth generation and currency creation more, my fear is it's only going to get worse. Your essay was intriguing and thought provoking, for sure. But not once, however, did I see "banker" or "central banks" mentioned. I saw an awful lot of complaining about billionaires and their government minions, but unless or until we get a more informed electorate, select better representation, start digging into the real enablers of wealth, the bankers, and, perhaps, start looking at something like an alternate currency system that removes their power, my fear is nothing is going to change. You're a very good writer, and apparently a pretty darned good researcher. I would dearly love for you to go down the central banking rabbit hole. I think we agree on the need to take the power away from those who wield it but, perhaps, we differ slightly on who the real power brokers are. You mentioned some of the business magnates of the early twentieth century. My limited study of this era suggests that this was the beginning of the end of our liberties as we once knew them. My focus on the events leading up to 1913, when the 16th Amendment and the Federal Reserve Act were passed, suggests that if you want to know where the real power and influence comes from, take a closer look at the enablers... the bankers.

This is the intentional, deliberate & now more apparent & more easily detectable architecture for any & all nation states that were once industrialized & productive, more or less self-sufficient economically strong systems....It is part of the engineered cycles of the long history of time, superintended & managed by the invisible hand of the true ruling class, whose corruption & power are much more far-reaching, comprehensive & multifaceted than any of those "robber barons" who have been the faces of the psychopathic criminal cartels that pull the strings & manage the theater we accept as reality.

Many of us (I'm 69) who grew up at the end of the "Father Knows Best" & "Leave It To Beaver" & "Donna Reed" & “The Andy Griffith Show" etc., believed we were still part of a dream we were all given - a mass delusion that somewhere this reality to which we clung still existed. We were given entry-level jobs on corporate plantations, & willingly assented to what we were told - that our hard work would be rewarded (with more & more responsibility, recognition, small salary increases [sometimes decreases to "move" into a more suitable place to have our talents exploited]), as more & more compromise was demanded from us - our integrity & individuality, our self awareness, as we were molded into their idealized worker persona whose allegiance was constantly being examined & measured (even “stack ranked”) in a never ceasing competition with our personal lives & individual aspirational dreams -- for example, we chose to be a single income family, to have & educate our children at home, to purchase clothing at thrift stores, to "brown bag" our lunches (even when I finally became an "executive" - friends used to kid me about my token dollar in my wallet) to eat organic, healthy foods from co-ops, to do simple things together, to build memories & to treasure our time together & our experiences more than the accumulation of material goods: to build on a foundation of simple faith & trust in God, who certainly did not approve of, or endorse the "rip off" of humankind that was being systematically productionalized and rolled out globally (exported like a disease that would ravage the rest of the world) - to buy used furniture we fixed up, old houses (bought with money from relatives whom we paid back over time) we remodeled slowly (over 4 - 5 years), to only drive older paid-for cars we kept maintaining (often fixing it ourselves or with a friend) to have instruments, books & games (gardens) instead of television and movies, to take hikes into nature or to find simple pleasure in being with other friends & sharing "potluck" dinners....even among my peers, we were old fashioned & “idealistic” flukes -- once featured on a TV special because we stood out so much from the "you only go around once in life, better grab all the gusto you can" crowd that were busy climbing over one another to get noticed, get promoted, get more power (esteem?) - only to find (as I witnessed many times interacting with Senior Managers later in my career) they had to capitulate more & more in order to secure & retain their influence & the facade of control: the stream of money & privilege for which they'd sold their empty souls.
Our children learned industry, to work diligently but intelligently - my 13 years old son once was given a job at a warehouse where candy & other goods were inventoried -- he (self-directed & motivated) worked one weekend to completely reorder the entire inventory of warehoused goods to be more efficient - & while the owners appreciated the improvement, it made them nervous having someone at that age & level of experience come in & recognize the deficiencies & actually take the initiative to do something -- they were threatened by it. I found this repeatedly in business endeavors as well - they wanted to own the mind, direct & shape it’s applications & uses -- to conform to their ends & not to what might otherwise be progress & more efficient, desirable outcomes.
Sure, the labor level jobs (I've done many of them - not rewarding enough for me at the time) almost always had demand & when employed, better wages, but working conditions & security (or the illusion of it) were not as dependable as the plantation, though I often dreamed of being self-employed because it seemed they had it best (though most would admit they worked 16 hour days & their work, though rewarding, consumed even their sleeping hours). But the corruption & inequities I witnessed through my 43 years of conscripted labor for corporate machines - both as an employee & as "vendor" for a time servicing them as "outsourced" talent (a different expense item where they could more cheaply buy the services they wanted versus housing them & paying employees themselves) later as a manager who refused to conform & comply opened my eyes late in life to the realities in which we'd lived - the staged already settled destinies that had been prepared for us.....especially once we were "unproductive" & "expendable" useless eaters who were scheduled & intentionally engineered to grow sick, age, become weak (irrelevant) & to expire to alleviate the burden we'd become to the production managers who run the machinations of our world. We were no longer good as milk cows or as beef cows...we who live despite the odds live modestly, simply, without pretense or disappointment for we realize what is transpiring & we renounce our citizenship here, even as we live, for now, understanding that we are indestructible only as long as there is something for us to do here for the One who calls us to Himself....our citizenship is in another kingdom and our lives emanate from there, not from the unfruitful & dark rebellion that is in full force here.
There is destruction & degradation all around -- it's been designed to deteriorate -- we are not "evolving" we are "devolving" & that's apparent -- there is no earthly savior, no solution, no magic way to correct the thousands of years of intentional destruction & manipulation & illusion that has directed us on this course to the engineered & desired end we're nearing. The spiritual battle has been won - only the claim check for its realization remains to be submitted & the (final) reckoning realized. It feels like it’s in the near future. We can occupy, make the most of our days, because of the evil that's so prevalent -- doing good & loving & caring for one another, not remaining isolated individuals who are fighting amongst ourselves (imagine collaboration in a world based on competition). We can join forces and unite against the minority who hold sway & refuse - to stand firm, & not yield ground (it may cost us our lives because they're dead serious about getting what they want and are emboldened to have it at any cost -- are we so inclined to resist that far?).
Those who have accumulated the largest amount of wealth & influence, who have ascended to the invisible yet powerful oligarchy of which you have written are animated spiritually by dark pernicious powers that are in opposition to humankind - we who are made in the image & likeness of our Creator & Redeemer God. He has allowed the lie of Satan in the garden to fully flourish down through history, to demonstrate that the kingdoms of this world are destined for fire & destruction, & those who have aligned themselves with these & their ways will perish as well - not just from this life, but eternally. The reason the contrast is more & more apparent, the absurdity more pronounced & insane is that the level of confidence in their ability to exploit & control even our perceptions, our thoughts & our desires -- to fashion for us from their own dark imaginations what they wish for us to see & feel &to labor...have become great -- while we are (intentionally, repeatedly) divided against one another, nervous, exhausted, resentful, angered & frustrated, constantly defeated from critical thinking because of the intentional use of contradiction to perpetuate cognitive dissonance & the flatlining of our prefrontal cortex....the spiritual battle for our souls, the physical battle for our bodies & the emotional/psychological battle for our minds & wills -- they intend to take it all, to digitize, tokenize, commodify & to turn the world and everything in it into tradeable assets for their global casino. Technology, the trojan horse, has brought them the kind of power they've lusted after individually as competing power factions, for millennia -- they can build the cage around us & if they're successful, most will not even recognize it for the digital panopticon that it is. In fact, their wills & aspirations will have been shaped from before birth to accept & even welcome such an existence. That you & others are an aberration - who reject the mold into which they wish to press you -- to simply accept their intent to produce cooperative puppets who, like those helpful sock puppets who have titles, the illusion of power and prestige, who seem to be making policies and laws and who seem bent on realizing Napoleon-like goals & who are drunk with the illusion of power & the accumulation of goods stolen from others....you represent the wild card they wish to squelch (the unanticipated nonconformist - roughly 30% of any population). There really is no other way out at this point - they know and we need to face up to the facts. Call me a doomer if you will but I consider myself more of a prepper. It is wise to own silver coins (good time to buy the dip) even if you think you cant afford them. You can. Even if its just a few. develop a useful skill or anything you can barter with. Learn a bit about living off the land.
So many of us, most of my friends included, are afraid to lift the blinders to see where we are heading. The blue pill, though bitter at times, tastes better than the red. A tough road is ahead of us so stay healthy, have a few months of dry food on hand and a source of clean water. Our job now is to hold strong and build something out of the ruins for our children.

We had free education at university ( new )
We had a free health service in the NHS.
We avoided the Vietnam War.
Petrol and housing was CHEAP. So was beer. I owned my own house at 28 (£20,000)
I could drive wherever I liked.
Compliance was just a word. There were no street cameras, no internet and no digital tracking or currency.
The EU was a relatively benign force then, allowing us to travel and work anywhere.

If the current education system (and/or self education) isn't improved (somehow), and we start dissecting wealth generation and currency creation more, my fear is it's only going to get worse. Your essay was intriguing and thought provoking, for sure. But not once, however, did I see "banker" or "central banks" mentioned. I saw an awful lot of complaining about billionaires and their government minions, but unless or until we get a more informed electorate, select better representation, start digging into the real enablers of wealth, the bankers, and, perhaps, start looking at something like an alternate currency system that removes their power, my fear is nothing is going to change. You're a very good writer, and apparently a pretty darned good researcher. I would dearly love for you to go down the central banking rabbit hole. I think we agree on the need to take the power away from those who wield it but, perhaps, we differ slightly on who the real power brokers are. You mentioned some of the business magnates of the early twentieth century. My limited study of this era suggests that this was the beginning of the end of our liberties as we once knew them. My focus on the events leading up to 1913, when the 16th Amendment and the Federal Reserve Act were passed, suggests that if you want to know where the real power and influence comes from, take a closer look at the enablers... the bankers.

This is the intentional, deliberate & now more apparent & more easily detectable architecture for any & all nation states that were once industrialized & productive, more or less self-sufficient economically strong systems....It is part of the engineered cycles of the long history of time, superintended & managed by the invisible hand of the true ruling class, whose corruption & power are much more far-reaching, comprehensive & multifaceted than any of those "robber barons" who have been the faces of the psychopathic criminal cartels that pull the strings & manage the theater we accept as reality.
And their present intent is clear: program, disrupt, disable, foment fear & helplessness, divide & conquer, plunder the last vestiges of every kind of value from every living & non-living thing: render the masses destitute, transfer the wealth that remains from them, assign them a stipend sufficient to keep them at poverty level or below, & use their DNA & unused brain capacity as well as their HARVESTED bioenergy via a worldwide human mesh network to store and process data (6G) - the data that has been & continues to be systematically gathered about every facet of every aspect of life, every individual, even the thoughts, expressions & aspirations of their soul…fashion a cage that seems so inescapable & inevitable (& UNDETECTABLE) that acquiescence to it & expectations of being able to simply exist become the desperate baseline of those who survive the cullings, the constant pressures, the inequities paraded in front of them, the obvious contradictions to keep critical thinking & realization that the keepers are fewer than we who are their prey....
We have been led to believe that the "institutions" which were used to facilitate the lives we had, & the accumulation of wealth, privilege & enjoyment of "the good life" were our destinies (rights), but it is those same institutions that were created & perpetuated to slowly take from us all that our time, talents & labor could produce. We are tax farmed slaves who get the "privilege" of submitting suggestions to our "elected" masters that we vote for periodically to keep the facade of a participative, "representative" government alive while the truth is so far different most (who do not see the criminal cartel and its true nature & objectives) will never dare believe that the matrix which has been constructed around them is simply harvesting their intelligence, creativity, contributions, & innovations -- their spirit & their "we can do it" attitude as they retire the prior herd & renew the empty promises for the new one.
Many of us (I'm 69) who grew up at the end of the "Father Knows Best" & "Leave It To Beaver" & "Donna Reed" & “The Andy Griffith Show" etc., believed we were still part of a dream we were all given - a mass delusion that somewhere this reality to which we clung still existed. We were given entry-level jobs on corporate plantations, & willingly assented to what we were told - that our hard work would be rewarded (with more & more responsibility, recognition, small salary increases [sometimes decreases to "move" into a more suitable place to have our talents exploited]), as more & more compromise was demanded from us - our integrity & individuality, our self awareness, as we were molded into their idealized worker persona whose allegiance was constantly being examined & measured (even “stack ranked”) in a never ceasing competition with our personal lives & individual aspirational dreams -- for example, we chose to be a single income family, to have & educate our children at home, to purchase clothing at thrift stores, to "brown bag" our lunches (even when I finally became an "executive" - friends used to kid me about my token dollar in my wallet) to eat organic, healthy foods from co-ops, to do simple things together, to build memories & to treasure our time together & our experiences more than the accumulation of material goods: to build on a foundation of simple faith & trust in God, who certainly did not approve of, or endorse the "rip off" of humankind that was being systematically productionalized and rolled out globally (exported like a disease that would ravage the rest of the world) - to buy used furniture we fixed up, old houses (bought with money from relatives whom we paid back over time) we remodeled slowly (over 4 - 5 years), to only drive older paid-for cars we kept maintaining (often fixing it ourselves or with a friend) to have instruments, books & games (gardens) instead of television and movies, to take hikes into nature or to find simple pleasure in being with other friends & sharing "potluck" dinners....even among my peers, we were old fashioned & “idealistic” flukes -- once featured on a TV special because we stood out so much from the "you only go around once in life, better grab all the gusto you can" crowd that were busy climbing over one another to get noticed, get promoted, get more power (esteem?) - only to find (as I witnessed many times interacting with Senior Managers later in my career) they had to capitulate more & more in order to secure & retain their influence & the facade of control: the stream of money & privilege for which they'd sold their empty souls.
Our children learned industry, to work diligently but intelligently - my 13 years old son once was given a job at a warehouse where candy & other goods were inventoried -- he (self-directed & motivated) worked one weekend to completely reorder the entire inventory of warehoused goods to be more efficient - & while the owners appreciated the improvement, it made them nervous having someone at that age & level of experience come in & recognize the deficiencies & actually take the initiative to do something -- they were threatened by it. I found this repeatedly in business endeavors as well - they wanted to own the mind, direct & shape it’s applications & uses -- to conform to their ends & not to what might otherwise be progress & more efficient, desirable outcomes.
Sure, the labor level jobs (I've done many of them - not rewarding enough for me at the time) almost always had demand & when employed, better wages, but working conditions & security (or the illusion of it) were not as dependable as the plantation, though I often dreamed of being self-employed because it seemed they had it best (though most would admit they worked 16 hour days & their work, though rewarding, consumed even their sleeping hours). But the corruption & inequities I witnessed through my 43 years of conscripted labor for corporate machines - both as an employee & as "vendor" for a time servicing them as "outsourced" talent (a different expense item where they could more cheaply buy the services they wanted versus housing them & paying employees themselves) later as a manager who refused to conform & comply opened my eyes late in life to the realities in which we'd lived - the staged already settled destinies that had been prepared for us.....especially once we were "unproductive" & "expendable" useless eaters who were scheduled & intentionally engineered to grow sick, age, become weak (irrelevant) & to expire to alleviate the burden we'd become to the production managers who run the machinations of our world. We were no longer good as milk cows or as beef cows...we who live despite the odds live modestly, simply, without pretense or disappointment for we realize what is transpiring & we renounce our citizenship here, even as we live, for now, understanding that we are indestructible only as long as there is something for us to do here for the One who calls us to Himself....our citizenship is in another kingdom and our lives emanate from there, not from the unfruitful & dark rebellion that is in full force here.
There is destruction & degradation all around -- it's been designed to deteriorate -- we are not "evolving" we are "devolving" & that's apparent -- there is no earthly savior, no solution, no magic way to correct the thousands of years of intentional destruction & manipulation & illusion that has directed us on this course to the engineered & desired end we're nearing. The spiritual battle has been won - only the claim check for its realization remains to be submitted & the (final) reckoning realized. It feels like it’s in the near future. We can occupy, make the most of our days, because of the evil that's so prevalent -- doing good & loving & caring for one another, not remaining isolated individuals who are fighting amongst ourselves (imagine collaboration in a world based on competition). We can join forces and unite against the minority who hold sway & refuse - to stand firm, & not yield ground (it may cost us our lives because they're dead serious about getting what they want and are emboldened to have it at any cost -- are we so inclined to resist that far?).
Those who have accumulated the largest amount of wealth & influence, who have ascended to the invisible yet powerful oligarchy of which you have written are animated spiritually by dark pernicious powers that are in opposition to humankind - we who are made in the image & likeness of our Creator & Redeemer God. He has allowed the lie of Satan in the garden to fully flourish down through history, to demonstrate that the kingdoms of this world are destined for fire & destruction, & those who have aligned themselves with these & their ways will perish as well - not just from this life, but eternally. The reason the contrast is more & more apparent, the absurdity more pronounced & insane is that the level of confidence in their ability to exploit & control even our perceptions, our thoughts & our desires -- to fashion for us from their own dark imaginations what they wish for us to see & feel &to labor...have become great -- while we are (intentionally, repeatedly) divided against one another, nervous, exhausted, resentful, angered & frustrated, constantly defeated from critical thinking because of the intentional use of contradiction to perpetuate cognitive dissonance & the flatlining of our prefrontal cortex....the spiritual battle for our souls, the physical battle for our bodies & the emotional/psychological battle for our minds & wills -- they intend to take it all, to digitize, tokenize, commodify & to turn the world and everything in it into tradeable assets for their global casino. Technology, the trojan horse, has brought them the kind of power they've lusted after individually as competing power factions, for millennia -- they can build the cage around us & if they're successful, most will not even recognize it for the digital panopticon that it is. In fact, their wills & aspirations will have been shaped from before birth to accept & even welcome such an existence. That you & others are an aberration - who reject the mold into which they wish to press you -- to simply accept their intent to produce cooperative puppets who, like those helpful sock puppets who have titles, the illusion of power and prestige, who seem to be making policies and laws and who seem bent on realizing Napoleon-like goals & who are drunk with the illusion of power & the accumulation of goods stolen from others....you represent the wild card they wish to squelch (the unanticipated nonconformist - roughly 30% of any population). To silence. To discredit. To exterminate. You are the greatest danger they face, because you have begun to see what they've labored to conceal -- less & less successfully as their hubris intensifies and their belief that they are near the completion of their long sought after goal (inspired by the original rebel who challenged the throne of almighty God and who has been working since to construct a synthetic counterfeit kingdom by force to try & replicate the Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent holy God whose reign & rule will soon be reasserted & the world we know radically reformed, but not until the full absurdity & fallacious nature of the plan is revealed to all -- and a decision presented to choose sides -- this time a division that has always existed & is not manufactured, but has been hidden, revealed only to those with eyes to see & ears to hear & hearts to receive -- and lives to dedicate not to fixing a corrupt & broken world in rebellion to God (which we see all around us) but instead to be invested in a kingdom that is without end, built on love, forgiveness, service, & on the grace & care of a truly benevolent, loving triune God whose patience & tolerance for the monstrosity that has grown from those who fell (making a wrong choice that has affected & infected us all since) & the (evil) one who tempted them to what it is today -- a menacing force that seeks to have it all & to use it for its own perpetuation & gratification at the expense of all else is about done & Who will right the wrongs & birth in us that persistent, still present paradise that lingers in our minds & hearts despite the ill will & discouragement that is everywhere present....it is His Spirit calling to us to embrace that, even in the midst of the chaos & evil that has continued to grow and fester & become a terminal scourge on humanity...to recognize that while life here is sacred, special & made for the attainment of its highest good -- it is only so in & though Him who has loved us & made provision for us to join Him in His kingdom without end that has no remnant of what has been done here....
Keep writing, keep declaring truth, keep seeing the real picture, and recognize the spiritual dimension that makes the difference that the "real world" we experience through our five senses has been altered and is not what it seems -- it is an instrument for our demise and/or enslavement. The truth that sets us free is that we may live here, but we are not from here -- we have another home to which we are bound...and that is freedom in the midst of darkness.
The financial nightmare the elite class has forced upon us while fleecing the phony fiat system is on the of total collapse. It's coming and protesting/activism won't prevent the crash. The great taking has been going on for sometime. The changes to the UCC a few years ago even took away the right to ownership of securities by the individual and granted them to the holder to use as collateral in their games of derivatives and swap trading . When it does fail and the small and midsize players are bankrupted, whatever remains will be owned by "to big to fail" banksters. This is the prelude to the Great Reset and roll out of programmable digital currencies and UN Agenda 2030. There really is no other way out at this point - they know and we need to face up to the facts. Call me a doomer if you will but I consider myself more of a prepper. It is wise to own silver coins (good time to buy the dip) even if you think you cant afford them. You can. Even if its just a few. develop a useful skill or anything you can barter with. Learn a bit about living off the land.
So many of us, most of my friends included, are afraid to lift the blinders to see where we are heading. The blue pill, though bitter at times, tastes better than the red. A tough road is ahead of us so stay healthy, have a few months of dry food on hand and a source of clean water. Most of all, build a network of trusted friends you can count on to work with you to get around the pot holes as they pop up. 1950s prosperity will never be a reality for GenX or GenZ - sorry. Our job now is to hold strong and build something out of the ruins for our children.

You have certainly identified how the oligarchs have studied history and know that they must stop us from uniting. Hence the unprecedented level of activity to turn us against each other as well as distracting us with the likes of the antics of Trump, as just one example. What they cannot control, try as they might, is our coming together globally, through the internet, something they sought as control but has seriously backfired on them in spite of growing censorship. When you can literally remove a safety feature from hardware someone already owns and rent it back monthly to fund a trillionaire compensation package, we've crossed into territory that feels more feudal than capitalist.
