An Emotionless Look at the WEF's Great Reset—Spoiler Alert, It's Still Bad

Over the past few years, many publications in various forms have (mine included) warned about the World Economic Forum's (WEF) Great Reset agenda, which aims to transform the international community into a techno-hierarchy controlled by a stakeholder elite. Klaus Schwab, the Forum's president, is the epitome of what Samuel Huntington described as the "Davos Man" and "gold-collared workers" in 2004.

Huntington referred to these "dead souls" as individuals who have renounced their national identity. In 1994, Christopher Lasch observed that this elite had "abandoned their loyalty to America." They view the world as their financial playground and have no allegiance to any flag or border. CNBC later characterized the typical Davos Man as wealthy, powerful, and, perhaps, disconnected, but primarily representative of the global elite.

We have been blindly heading towards Schwab's Fourth Industrial Revolution, or Globalization 4.0, for over three decades, starting with the fall of the Soviet Union and the near silence of anti-globalization protests following 9/11. When this new revolution began is relatively unimportant, but two events at the end of the first Bush administration seem to have inadvertently hastened its onset.

First, the Soviet Union's collapse destroyed the old geopolitical landscape, which had divided the world into two military superpowers. As US military supremacy grew, the era of neoliberal globalization entered hyperdrive, and the Clinton administration's new generation of neoconservatives sought to keep Cold War myths alive through NATO. Second, the aftermath of the first Gulf War led to the launch of the digital age and the era of big tech and social media when the World Wide Web went public in 1993.

NOT JUST A SCHWAB PRODUCTION, OTHERS ARE ALSO COMPETING FOR CREDIT

It is an amateurish assumption to attribute the Great Reset solely to Schwab. Many of its underlying principles are not new in theory. Technologies such as 5G telecommunications, robotics and artificial intelligence, data collection and surveillance, blockchain applications, biotechnology and genetic engineering, and transhumanist visions were already advancing and becoming more sophisticated exponentially.

A dozen years ago, urban theorist Richard Florida published his book, The Great Reset: How New Ways of Living and Working Drive Post-Crash Prosperity. Well before Schwab spoke about the opportunity to reset human civilization during the Covid-19 pandemic, Florida's Reset promised a better life without the "ownership of real estate, appliances, cars, and all manner of material goods."

Several of Richard Florida's predictions, such as the shift towards a renter economy from homeownership, are becoming a reality. This transition is particularly important for large urban areas due to population migration from rural regions. The United Nation's Agenda 20 and the WEF's futurist strategies share many commonalities. In 2014, Dutch economist Willem Middelkoop proposed The Big Reset in his book of the same name.

Despite its significant global presence, the WEF has achieved little as an international institution since its inception in 1971. It is largely a façade of human arrogance and self-delusion. Left to its own devices, the Forum is a rather ineffective institution. According to Schwab, the organization's sole purpose is to promote "dialogue between stakeholders" and “does not engage in negotiations for treaties or policy decisions.” Schwab once stated, "Elites have always existed. We bring together people of influence, and we hope they use their influence in a positive way." When questioned about whether the WEF could replace the current multilateral international institutional structure, Schwab replied that this was not the Forum's objective. Instead, the WEF aims to initiate reforms from within the existing institutions.

The Forum functions as a massive clearing house that assimilates a vast quantity of analytical reports, geopolitical analyses, scenario exercises, and public and private symposia from a diverse range of entities including governmental and multilateral organizations, financial firms, transnational corporations, banks, NGOs, think tanks, and even intelligence agencies and elitist institutions such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission, and others.

Despite its global public profile, the Forum has not achieved anything earth-shattering on its own, apart from providing a premier space for the Davos elite, corporate multinationals, and financial magnates to network privately and develop novel ways to preserve and advance a post-capitalist technological agenda without significantly disturbing the parasitic neoliberal framework upon which these entities depend. Nevertheless, the WEF is also driven by a desire to promote a model for socioeconomic progress based on a technologically driven regime that does not provoke significant disruptions within the ruling elite class.

JACQUES ATTALI: THE OVERLOOKED FIGURE BEHIND THE GREAT RESET

However, by keeping a low profile, the WEF has inadvertently created a nurturing environment where some of the most infamous members of the elite can initiate global disruptions and leverage them to further their own nefarious agendas. Jacques Attali, a French economist and social theorist, is a powerful and influential figure who is often overlooked by critics of the Great Reset.

Despite being a senior consultant to French presidents Mitterrand, Sarkozy, and a key player in Emmanuel Macron's election, Attali's role in the globalist agenda remains largely unrecognized. In 1989, he founded the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development with a mission to rebuild the former Soviet republics into functioning capitalist democracies, but he was later accused of gross mismanagement. Nevertheless, Attali is considered one of the world's top global thinkers by prestigious publications such as Foreign Policy.

According to Professor Valentin Katasonov, Chairman of the Russian Economic Society, Jacques Attali's ideas and plans for a Positive Planet Initiative align with many of Klaus Schwab's strategies for the Great Reset. Some have even suggested that Attali may be the true "mastermind behind the Great Reset."

Adopting a doctrine of radical scientific materialism, Attali sees all human activity, including politics, agriculture, transportation, technology, economics, human behavior, health, and medicine, as nothing more than codes that govern “sets of rules.” In Attali's dystopian vision of the future, all such codes need to be rewritten so that a "living being" becomes “an object” and "an artifact.”

Ten years ago, Attali expressed his support for the voluntary or involuntary implantation of radio-identification chips to achieve universal traceability, creating an electronic surveillance system that would allow the elite to execute total control over our lives. Attali has also suggested that modern medicine could be the foundation for future surveillance systems, which he believes will enslave people for their own good through gentle and permanent conditioning. Attali rejected the idea that his technological utopia was Orwellian, instead believing in implicit totalitarianism with an invisible and decentralized Big Brother. Attali has recommended a reduction in agriculture, transportation, mechanical and chemical engineering, and widespread decarbonization, all of which are outlined in Schwab's The Fourth Industrial Revolution (which I have read, so you don’t have to).

In a recent appearance on China's state media, Schwab praised the Chinese Communist Party's control as a role model for global transformation. Attali's ideas and strategic plans coincide with Schwab's Great Reset goals. His Positive Planet Initiative is also part of the WEF's network. In his 2009 book The Crisis and After, Attali predicted an “uncontrolled pandemic” and supported Bill Gates' pandemic strategies. During a 2021 TED talk, which was removed shortly after being posted, Attali supported a technological readjustment of the human organism through vaccination, embracing the doctrine of radical scientific materialism and advocating for the overhaul and rewriting of all codes that govern human activity.

After the fall of the Soviet Union, the US and the West envisioned a new neo-capitalist age. According to Fukuyama's The End of History, history was coming to a close and a neoliberal epoch was being orchestrated by the US and its economic partners.

Nevertheless, the events that led to this ahistorical period may have also signaled the end of crony capitalism itself. The 2008 financial crisis hastened the erosion of the tangible value of money. All that was needed was a printing press to conjure up value and purchasing power from thin air.

A TECHNO-DYSTOPIAN REVOLUTION

It's possible that a stakeholder surveillance state, controlled by multinational corporations who develop and control technology, may replace neoliberal capitalism and emerge as the new sovereign state, reducing nation-states to subservience. In this scenario, the advancement of technology and its benefits may not serve humanity and democratic ideals, but rather lead to increasing enslavement of humanity, with humans serving technology itself.

Historian David Baker, writing before the WHO declared Covid-19 a pandemic, predicted various crises for the century, including stagnant real wages, worsening health inequality, more riots and uprisings, ongoing political polarization, and elites competing for limited positions of power, among others. As we have seen in recent times, these predictions are becoming reality.

The Great Reset agenda may lead to a counterrevolutionary movement, orchestrated by a global elite, which seeks to upend neoliberalist capitalism in order to usher in a post-capitalist era. Christopher Lasch warned of such a revolution in his 1995 book, The Revolt of the Elite and the Betrayal of Democracy, noting that the elites' desire to destroy the middle class would result in a “war of all against all.”

It is important to note that post-capitalism is not synonymous with Marxism, despite the misconception perpetuated by some critics of the World Economic Forum. While they bear parallels, terms such as Marxist, communist, socialist, and fascist (in their generally accepted meanings) fail to accurately describe the Great Reset's larger vision. In fact, those most closely aligned with the Fourth Industrial Revolution's techno-economic ideology, such as Attali and Schwab, invert true Marxism into some weird corporation-controlled cyberpunk dystopia that reuses ideas from classical Socialism to keep people under control.

It should be clear that the WEF's counterrevolution is not rooted in genuine class struggle, nor does it support the proletariat worker's fight against a powerful global bourgeoisie that holds opaque positions in socio-economic governance as stakeholders. The Reset revolution is orchestrated by the wealthy owners of capital, rather than the average citizen, and as a result, it represents a new form of oppression aimed at further destroying the middle and upper working classes.

As banks and large investment firms like Blackrock continue to devour real estate, tens of millions of homeowners and small and medium-sized business owners are facing bankruptcy and property seizure.

The Dutch government's recent land seizures from farmers is another illustration of this trend. Ultimately, the objective is to establish a depopulated caste system that benefits an empowered elite class and its privileged supporters. Below them will be a socially engineered caste made up of masses of expendable “useless eaters.”

THE FUTURE OF HUMANITY: A CHOOSE-YOUR-OWN-DYSTOPIA ADVENTURE AT THE NSA'S EXCLUSIVE SANTA FE CONFERENCE

At the invitation-only 2018 Santa Fe conference held by the National Security Agency (NSA), attendees voted on their preferred or anticipated outcome of four future scenarios for humanity in addressing the world's impending crises.

The first and most optimal scenario portrayed our civilization’s capacity to meet and solve every obstacle and crisis. The second scenario was contingent upon a significant technological breakthrough to enable modern civilization to overcome its most daunting challenges. However, the attendees dismissed both this and the first scenario due to the perceived lack of intelligence among Western political leaders, and the belief that the most law-abiding citizens (i.e., middle and upper working classes) are ill-equipped to assume the responsibility required to tackle these challenges (which in an intentionally dumbed down society is not too surprising).

The third scenario received the most approval. It involves a controlled and orchestrated chaos, which aligns with Klaus Schwab's preferred trajectory. This scenario is inspired by economist Joseph Schumpeter's theory of “creative destruction” which sees innovation as a force for revolutionizing the status quo.

The fourth, and second most popular scenario, was called the "anthropological transition," which envisions a shift towards a new social order where the divide between the upper and lower classes is so great that it resembles the separation of different biological species. This concept of a new caste system is embedded within the Great Reset as a backup plan.

TRILATERAL COMMISSION: MAKING DEMOCRACY 'LESS DEMOCRACY' SINCE 1975

The concepts and ideas put forth at the Santa Fe conference are not entirely new, and have been discussed before in the Crisis of Democracy report commissioned by the Trilateral Commission in 1975. The report suggests that in order for a functioning democracy to exist, a large portion of the population must become apathetic and disengaged from civil action, and thus diminishing civil society’s public influence is essential. This may require moving towards less rather than more democracy, and even the destruction of the middle-class altogether.

Although the report was written almost half a century ago, it was resurrected in the Trilateral Commission’s Summer 2019 report entitled “Democracies Under Stress”. The 2019 report states that the Commission will return to its roots and produce content as seminal and lasting as the Crisis of Democracy report by Huntington, Crozier, and Watanuki.

The globalists have used the pandemic as an opportunity to suppress individuality, critical thinking, and self-awareness among the public. In this context, social movements such as the New Woke, environmentalism, and gender identity have served as predictable distractions co-opted by the same elites behind the Great Reset. Critical Race Theory and identity politics have replaced genuine class struggle, aligning with the system's agenda to replace democracy with mass idiocracy. To achieve this goal, public control over social media networks needs to be abolished, as demonstrated by the US Democrat and EU governments' opposition to Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter.

Following Obama's 8-year presidency, the elite class had high hopes for Hillary Clinton to rule for the following two terms, resulting in a 16-year reign by established corporate Democrats. The success of the globalist ideology's politicos and the implementation of the neoliberal project for establishing the unipolar regime described in the Great Reset would have been more likely during this time. Notably, Silicon Valley, a symbol of technological autocracy, voted heavily for Clinton in 2016 and Biden in 2020.

A significant event occurred with the “unexpected” election of Donald Trump, a maverick member of the elite class who, unlike his predecessors, at first impression espoused nationalist views and advocated for his country's sovereignty but ultimately fell in line with the globalists’ agenda goals, by installing deep state puppets as CIA heads and vaccinating the nation. However, Trump was also opposed to international institutional structures such as the UN, World Bank, IMF, and World Health Organization, which he viewed as infringing on national sovereignty. But who doesn’t need some good old controlled opposition to keep half the population in check and the other half outraged over his hair and skin color and how he says “China”?

Trump's presidency was feared to be a departure from the typical high-ranking clerks of his predecessors. He allegedly stood on the margins and opposed the international institutional infrastructures that encroach on nations' sovereignty, which hyperactive globalists like George Soros, Bill Gates, and Klaus Schwab prefer to demolish. These global elites envision Schwab's stakeholder capitalism, which would put multinational banks, corporations, and selected NGOs in charge of domestic and foreign governance. Despite Trump's buffoonery, and the ultimate disappointment he proved to be, it may have been a surreal blessing that interrupted the globalist agenda, gave the middle class some extra survival time, and made people wake up to what went on behind the scenes. Trump's presidency exposed the underbelly of the globalist class and its connections to the deep state apparatus.

However, Trump is not a suitable architect or leader for a constructive counterattack against the new global order based on the Great Reset's plans. Nonetheless, his presidency disrupted the tyrannical forces of the new faux left and the wealthy powers that support it.

The Great Reset and its accompanying ideology of stakeholder capitalism represent a significant threat to democracy and individual liberty. It is an agenda driven by a small group of megalomaniac globalists who seek to demolish the state and national boundaries and replace them with multinational corporations and NGOs governing domestic and foreign affairs. The pandemic has been used as an opportunity to push this agenda forward and to shatter public self-awareness, squash individuality, and dumb down critical thought.

While the Great Reset may be seen as a path towards a sustainable future, it is one that comes at the cost of personal freedom and sovereignty. As we move forward, it is essential to remain vigilant of the power grabs by the global elites and to protect our democratic values and institutions.
