I have spent a considerable amount of energy in my life pushing back. I can't help but wonder if the human race actually deteriorates to the level of one of the sci-fi books I've consumed, and if so I pray we have the fortitude of the characters in a Heinlein story.
It's all been spelled out in Agenda 2030 and actually reaches back to when the human race was first formed.
