I agree with the points in your article. I’d also say the dollar being the worlds reserve currency has been propped up by the US military. We have something on the order of 750 military bases in 80 foreign countries. Those countries are bound to use the USD. And if any other country starts to step out of line the CIA just does a coup and fixes the problem.
But we don’t have bases in China or Russia. And there will be no CIA color revolutions there. Together they will end the USD’s hegemony.
In a broader sense all forms ld “money” are supported by a belief system. Money doesn’t actually exists but in the minds of people. It is a reflection of a subjective value assignation. There are things with real value, which are the things without which we can’t survive. Everything else has a relative value, which is the value we individually / collectively perceive or willingly accept to perceive.
We often squander things of real value (like air, water, food, other people and our time of life) pursuing things with perceived value.
The dollar is the highest expression of how this powefull psychologic mechanism is.
An awesome read providing some thought provoking ideas about where the world is heading and how the so called " Chickens are coming home to roost" for the Neo liberals who have been the driving force behind US Strategic and foreign policy for the past thirty years.

Stick a fork in it. The dollar is done.
